Minerva Bunkering Partners with Emsengeni Primary School to Bring Educational Resources to Port Elizabeth

New Initiative Aims to Bring High Quality Curriculum to Local School

PORT ELIZABETH— (December 4, 2020) Minerva Bunkering is pleased to announce a partnership with Emsengeni Primary School that focuses on technological assistance for students navigating the global pandemic.

Minerva joins an increasing number of key partners, including the Kolisi Foundation, that are committed to providing students in South Africa with access to pre-used, refurbished iPads as part of Emsengeni Primary School’s growing ‘#MyFuture’ initiative.

“By empowering students in Port Elizabeth, we’re arming the next generation of South African students with skills that can be used in the future,” said Kostas Argyros, Minerva Bunkering Public Officer. “It takes all of us to cultivate change and partnerships such as these are just one way Minerva is attempting to do its part.”

With a great number of South African students suffering from a lack of access to devices, data and quality educational resources, Emsengeni Primary School is driving the #myfuture campaign that focuses on assisting matric students who have the potential to succeed, and whose futures are now in jeopardy due to the impact of COVID-19.

“On behalf of the school, we are very honored and grateful to partner with Minerva Bunkering SA,” said Luyanda Nyoka, Emsengeni Primary School’s Principal. “As COVID-19 disruptions are particularly severe in our disadvantaged communities, this initiative will bring growth to our school and continue to inspire our students.”

Emsengeni Primary School has the aim of assisting 10,000 matric learners with a digital toolkit that includes, functioning iPads to support them through their digital learning, access to high quality curriculum relevant content, live study sessions with teachers and sufficient data to connect to the programme.
